1889: the racetrack in Hastings Park opened for business as East Park. For a long stretch it was known as Exhibition Park. Thoroughbred racing ran there from that first year.
2004: Great Canadian acquired the lease of the city-owned track. October 19, 2025: the last live race of the season was run. December 5, 2025: thoroughbred racing ended, with immediate effect. The casino and the simulcast racebook continue.
The old Hastings Racecourse web address now forwards to Great Canadian's Hastings Casino page. Online, the venue is branded Hastings Casino. The Clubhouse opened only during live racing.

Who runs it
June 6, 2025: Tsleil-Waututh Nation and Great Canadian reached a memorandum of understanding for the casino part. November 7, 2025: a definitive agreement followed, subject to regulators and the City of Vancouver, which owns the land.

Hours and floor
Hastings Casino is at 188 N Renfrew St, Vancouver, inside Hastings Park. Hours are local Pacific time. Sunday to Thursday it opens at 11 AM and closes at 12 AM. Friday and Saturday it runs from 11 AM to 2 AM. Holiday hours are not given here and should be checked on the venue's own site.
The floor is slot machines only. There are no table games and no poker room. Great Canadian's pages give different slot counts, so no figure appears here.

Jerome's, a casual restaurant, sits off the racebook, and the indoor lounge has a full-service bar and a stage.
